There is a specific formula that is applied to determine the length of logs for habitat creation. Once the estimated flood stage water capacity is estimated for the stream and the average width of the stream is established the ideal log length is known. Our restoration project had the advantage of acquiring 55 foot logs. Ideal for our work.
