Tree falling is in the top ten of the most dangerous jobs in the USA. It usually shows up in place three or four of the list. Large dead trees are the most dangerous trees to cut. They are brittle and often rotten at the core. There are many possible scenarios that could play out causing death or injury. I personally know of many tree cutters that are maimed to this day in spite strict safety regulations and fine tuned working skills associated with the job. The logging industry in the USA has been heavily affected by environmental policies. But stream restoration and forest restoration can take these same skills to reverse the damage done in the past.
